Ghost Dancers
Where ever we played, or explored
as children, allowed us to learn more about our culture and use our
imaginations, to become anyone or anything. We believed we were always
surrounded by our spirit ancestors, who taught us how to keep this part of
ourselves, alive forever. Although it is difficult to see, in the background
of this
painting,
are the four of us, dancing with spirits formed out of the morning mist,
near my Grandmothers lake.
The Dragonfly, is considered a spiritual vessel
by the natives. It is believed if one lands on you, or fly's around
you, you are being watched
over by relatives who have passed on.
